Durfort is the village of copper and craftsmen. The Copper Museum allows you to discover the history of the village from the castrum of Durfort to the saga of the coppersmith which made the village famous since the 15th century. The craftsmen used the hydraulic power of the Sor to operate huge hammers. They were used to form the products which were then finished in the workshops. The village counted up to 18 of these gigantic hammers. This know-how has almost disappeared today, but the Copper Museum has an animated model which allows visitors to discover the fabulous work of copper with hammers.
