The Way of Arles or Via Tolosana is one of the main pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. After crossing Lacaune mountains, the pilgrims reach Agout plain at Castres to head towards Lauragais through our territory "Aux sources du canal du Midi".

The walkers pass through Sorèze and then Revel, at the foot of the Montagne Noire. From Revel, the GR 653 follows Pierre-Paul Riquet's rigole de la Plaine which drains the water of the Montagne Noire to Naurouze watershed.

Pilgrims walk up to Toulouse following the Canal du Midi or the ridge line above it.
